These are new classes never offered before at the Budokan.
All childrens classes run 45 minutes in order to keep them focused and to avoid overloading them.
Classes are designed to give children an overview of each art taught at Budokan Martial Arts. This allows them to later
specialize in a particular art they find the most interesting and attend the adult classes when they reach the right age.
Childrens Classes Focus on:
Goal Setting- Through various programs, such as Black Belt Club.
Academic Excellent- By providing incentives for students to succeed.
Positive Self-image-through learning to appreciate difference with mutual respect.
Self Control- By learning to calm the mind rather than acting out.
Flawless Technique- by accepting nothing but your best.
Classes are broken up by age:
Beginner Children (Age 6-9)/Little Dragons: This class focuses on teaching gross
motor skills and eye hand coordination related to martial arts through various games, drills, and exercises. Training focues
on striking, grappling, and self defense.
Advanced Children (9-12)/ Little Ninjas: Students are taught more formal martial
arts techniques and complex drills, as well as character development. Training is balanced between striking and grappling.
At the age of 10 students may also attend the Ninjutsu classes, as the techniques are taught in a less formal and a very
open way. Ask Sensei for more information.
